Coulomb Technologies provides the ChargePoint Network, the most advanced, easy to use, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure that delivers electric fuel to EVs around the globe. Charging Stations

ChargePoint Charging Stations deliver controlled power to effectively and efficiently charge electric vehicles (EV). The charging stations are easy to use and come in a variety of power and design options that integrate pleasant aesthetics, practical ergonomics and sturdy construction - ideal for home and for outdoor public applications. Each design is shown below:

Each station is embedded with an on-board computer, a fluorescent display, a standards based RFID reader, and a utility-grade meter providing precise, bi-directional energy measurement. All stations are network-enabled, capable of reporting energy usage and communicating over the network with Software Application Services and Network Support Services to activate capabilities such as:
  • Providing open access for all drivers using any standards based RFID card
  • Generating revenue to offset electricity, capitol equipment and maintenance costs
  • Sending SMS or Email notifications to the driver for charging complete or interruptions in charging
  • Controlling access to eliminate energy theft and to enhance safety
  • Integrating with the utility Smart Grid for demand side management and preferred pricing
  • Remotely receiving software OTA upgrades to accommodate advancements in future EV charging technologies

NovaCharge Services

NovaCharge enables a smart charging infrastructure for plug-in vehicles by providing a seamless, scalable, reliable and cost-effective solution from Coulomb Technologies called the ChargePoint Network. Together, we are committed to providing an exceptional user experience for the owner’s of plug-in vehicles. NovaCharge provides sales, installation, commissioning and support for the ChargePoint Network thoughout our exclusive service area. Together, with our network of Coulomb Technologies co-partner channels, we can offer these services around the world. Through our growing network of re-sellers and installation partners, NovaCharge can deliver the critical services necessary to ensure the deployment of a high quality EV infrastructure for Government, Private Enterprise, and Electric Utility customers throughout our service area. NovaCharge can also work with customers to enable their preferred electrical contractor to provide installation by assisting them with the training and support necessary to certify them as a NovaCharge Authorized Installer. Regardless of whether customers chose to have a NovaCharge partner handle the rough-in installation, or have this done by their preferred contractor, NovaCharge and its partners will assist customers with the necessary site survey, system design, and the system commissioning for the ChargePoint Network. NovaCharge partners also offer maintenance agreements designed to complement the Coulomb Technologies factory warranty so that customers can continue to protect their investment for years to come. The ChargePoint Network

The ChargePoint Network enables the owner of a ChargePoint Networked Charging Station to provide a high quality charging enperience for EV owners. ChargePoints use wireless networking technology to allow EV owners to roam freely to any and all Charging Stations anywhere in the system, regardless of who may own the Charging Station. Charging Station owners can monitor their investments remotely, and deliver a safe, high quality charging experience, while creating a sustainable business model or generating revenue.

Communications Network

ChargePoints are connected via a highly reliable wireless meshed network system employing 802.15.4 and GSM/GPRS technology to communicate with the Network Operating System. The communications network allows drivers to charge at any public charging station regardless of which Host owns it. The network enables drivers to locate stations and, just as important, reveal which stations are not currently occupied. The network allows flexibility in business models , from free access; to controlled radio groups; to for pay. Owners of charging stations will have a private, highly encryted network portal onto the ChargePoint Network Operating System.

ChargePoint Network Operating System (NOS)

ChargePoint Network Charging Stations are managed by the ChargePoint Network Operating System. The ChargePoint Network provides web portals for drivers, hosts and utilities. Functions include user authentication, access control, payment collection, energy flow control, location management, utility company policy administration, user portal, host property portal, utility portal, and GPS system interface.
